A Beginner's Guide to Crossing Cultures: Making Friends in a Multicultural World
Published in Paperback by Intervarsity Press (June, 2002)
Author: Patty Lane
Average review score:

A Culture Navigator
I have been in a dozen intercultural classes in college and graduate level and I would recommend this book for anyone with cultural questions. There are practical questions at the end of each chapter that actually make the reader think and research in their own situation. There is a wide variety of examples used and the book serves as a helpful guide for intercultural interaction. It is easy to read and fun to see how I "should have" related and will in the future.

The Best Collections of Cross-Stitch Designs and Handiwork

Average review score:

I really LOVED it
I STARTED CROSS STITCHING WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD AND ONE OF THE FIRST BOOK THAT I USED TO GET DESIGNS IS "THE BEST COLLECTIONS OF CROSS-STITCH DESIGN & HANDIWORK". IT WAS EASY TO FOLLOW AND VERY CREATIVE! I STARTED WITH THE SMALL EASY PATERNS THEN I MOVED UP TO THE MORE CHALLENGING ONS! IT REALLY IS WORTH EVERY PENNY AND NOW AFTER ALMOST 15 YEARS I STILL GO BACK TO IT TO USE IT FOR MORE AND MORE DESIGNS. I REALLY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE WHO REALLY LOVES TO CROSS STITCH AND DO IT BECAUSE THEY ENJOY & APPRECIATE IT.

The Best of Just Cross Stitch
Published in Paperback by Oxmoor House (July, 1994)
Authors: Leisure Arts, Symbol of Excellence, and Oxmoor House
Average review score:

Must have in your needlework library
I've been cross-stitching for many years, and this is a wonderfull book to practice and to develop skills. All the photographs are beautifully done, and everything is explained in detail. The graphs are detailed and there is more than just the DMC yarn to choose from (but why do it?) It even has a small index at the end for supplies and other sundries.

Beyond the Burning Cross: A Landmark Case of Race, Censorship and the First Amendment
Published in Paperback by Vintage Books (October, 1995)
Authors: Edward J. Cleary, Robin Desser, and Nat Hentoff
Average review score:

Informative and inspiring
Ed Cleary has provided an informative glimpse into what it takes to get a controversial case to the United States Supreme Court. Disappointed by the ACLU's obvious preference for agenda over free speech, Cleary battled St. Paul's "hate crime" statute, arguing that he had no problem with laws which punished criminal acts, but serious reservations over laws which punished incorrect thought. Paul J. Walkowski, Co-Author, "From Trial Court to the United States Supreme Court"

The Biblical Way of the Cross
Published in Paperback by Ave Maria Press (January, 1994)
Authors: Michael A. Dubruiel and Amy Welborn
Average review score:

Excellent communal version of the Way of the Cross
The Biblical Way of the Cross uses the modern Biblical stations. It is designed for a communal celebration with three roles: Leader, Lector and People; it uses the traditional gestures of kneeling and standing. At each station, the leader announces the station, there is a short responsory, the lector reads a Scripture passage related to the station, a prayer divided between the leader and the people follows, then the station ends with a Kyrie. Each station is accompanied by a nature photo.

This is an excellent version for parish use. If you are researching versions of The Way of the Cross for communal use, this should be on the short list.

The Blonde: Double Cross (Eros Graphic Albums, No 9)
Published in Paperback by Fantagraphics Books (December, 1997)
Author: F. Saudelli
Average review score:

Saudelli's Art: Hands & Feet Above Other Fetish Comix
Saudelli's comix art is superb--rich in detail, eroticism and humor. His Italian sensibility filters through every panel. His "Blonde" character is an ideal erotic heroine always getting tied up in knots; it's a comix caper that will entertain (and arouse) you especially if you love the foot fetish.
